LEVEL

Generic Name: INSULIN DETEMIR (rDNA ORIGIN)
Classification: INSULIN (INTERMIDIATE-LONG ACTING)
Uses: long-acting form of insulin
Side Effects: itching, swelling, or redness where you inject insulin detemir
(the active ingredient contained in Levemir); swelling in your hands or feet;
or low potassium
Adult Dose: once- or twice-daily subcutaneous administration.


ENBREL

Generic Name: ETANERCEPT
Classification: ANTI-RHEUMATIC AND TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR (TNF) INHIBITOR
Uses: decreases a certain protein produced by the immune system
Side Effects: symptoms of lymphoma
Adult Dose: 50 mg weekly


VALTREX

Generic Name: VALACYCLOVIR
Classification: ANTIVIRAL
Uses: antiviral drug
Side Effects: a serious side effect that can harm red blood cells
Adult Dose: 2 grams twice daily


BENICAR HCT

Uses: (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt
Side Effects: eye pain, vision problems;feeling like you might pass out;

Uses: Treats certain types of leukemia
Side Effects: Rapid weight gain or swelling in your face, hands, ankles, or
feet

HUMIRA PEN

Classification: ANTI-RHEUMATIC AND TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR (TNF) INHIBITOR
Uses: used to reduce pain and swelling due to certain types of arthritis
Side Effects: Redness, itching, pain, or swelling at the injection site may

SYNTHROID

Classification: THYROID HORMONE
Uses: treat an underactive thyroid
Side Effects: Hair loss may occur during the first few months of treatment
Adult Dose: depends on age and weight


XALATAN

Generic Name: LATANOPROST
Classification: ANTIGLAUCOMA / PROSTAGLANDIN F2A ANALOG
Uses: treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma
Side Effects: may slowly (over months to years) cause brown discoloration of
the iris
Adult Dose: one drop in the affected eye; If you use more than 1 eye drop of
medicine, wait at least 5 minutes between each eye drop

Adult Dose: twice a day, about 12 hours apart

Side Effects: pain in your upper stomach that may spread to your shoulder;
Adult Dose: depends on what you need treated


Copaxone

Generic Name: glatiramer
Classification: amino acids
Uses: used to treat multiple sclerosis (MS) and to prevent relapse of MS.
Side Effects: pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest; or severe pain
where the injection is given
Adult Dose: 20 mg/day.


Neulasta

Generic Name: pegfilgrastim
Classification: colony stimulating factor
Uses: to prevent neutropenia, a lack of certain white blood cells caused by
receiving chemotherapy.
Side Effects: bone pain
Adult Dose: single subcutaneous injection of 6 mg administered once per
chemotherapy cycle in adults


Rituxan

Generic Name: rituximab
Classification: a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread
of cancer cells in the body.
Uses: used to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Side Effects: severe skin rash with blistering, itching, peeling, or pus

Classification: anticholinergic agent
Uses: used to prevent bronchospasm
Side Effects: wheezing, chest pain or tightness, trouble breathing

once-daily


Avastin

Generic Name: bevacizumab
Classification: cancer medicine
Uses: a cancer medicine that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and
slows their growth and spread in the body.
Side Effects: any wound that will not heal; dry or flaky skin, hair loss;
Adult Dose: 5 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg every 2 weeks when used in combination with
intravenous based chemotherapy.
